Sarah Shahi News and Updates
Upcoming Movies
-Posted by: Quivi

Sarah has already completed two movies that are set to be released this year, "The Adventures of Beatle Boyin" and "Shades of Ray".

Sarah stars in "Shades of Ray", playing Ray's love interest, Sana. American-born Ray Rehman comes home one night to find his Pakistani father on his doorstep. Ray's Caucasian mother threw him out. It's an awkward time for his father to move in as Ray just proposed to his Caucasian girlfriend - who hasn't given him an answer. While trying to get his parents back together, Ray meets a South Asian girl of mixed descent, just like him, and must decide where his identity truly lies.

While, she also has an important role in comedy/drama "The Adventures of Beatle Boyin". In the movie, Beatle Boyin's business cards read "Towing/Assassination", and she's been working on her hit-man training video infomercial for months now, but to no avail. A beautiful, incorrigible loner who refuses to live by the rules that society has set up, her only human contact is with her psychiatrist, Dr. Vanderark, and Carla, the stripper/hooker she employs once a week... until the night she meets a suicidal woman with a secret by the name of Athena Klendon. With a demented, sado-masochistic killer on their tail, courtesy of Athena's crooked former employer, the two quickly strike a bargain. Athena will change her life insurance policy to reflect Beatle as the beneficiary in exchange for her own execution. And while they wait for the paperwork to come through, Beatle will provide room and board in exchange for a little help with her infomercial. Throughout the course of this dark comic tragedy, our two heroines learn new ways of living this thing called life, and manage to fall in love in the process.

For Sarah Shahi, life is good

CRIME has always been a popular theme on television with most of the protagonists being police officers, lawyers or forensic investigators of utmost integrity. Life takes the tried-and-tested formula a step further by having the hero as a Los Angeles cop who rejoins the force after being exonerated for a triple murder, for which he spent 12 years in federal prison.

Sentenced to life for a crime he didn’t commit, the idealistic Charlie Crews (an excellent Damian Lewis) walks out of jail as a former inmate who has had almost all the bones in his body broken – and a changed man.

Crews is now a whole lot more street-smart and, understandably, has a distrust for everyone, a taste for Zen quotes, and an insatiable appetite for fresh fruits! And now that he is out, the anguished hero sets out on a clandestine mission to investigate the case that got him wrongly committed.
Sarah Shahi stars as the no-nonsense, gun-toting Dani Reese in Lifeopposite Damian Lewis’ wounded Charlie Crews.

As he uncovers the identities of the culprits, Crews finds himself having to adjust to a fast-paced, high-tech world. He is equally fascinated with his new partner, Detective Dani Reese, a dedicated policewoman who has not a few skeletons in her closet.

Sarah Shahi, who portrays Reese, got on the phone from Los Angeles recently with Asian journalists to stress just how different Life is from other police and legal dramas. “Not only do you have crime of the week, there’s also the Charlie Crews’ conspiracy – a wonderful touch for the show.

“It’s a fun show. It has great writing and great music. A lot of people have commented on the show’s music. I think the show has done well, having all the elements – comedy, drama, suspense, sadness, conspiracy. Rand Ravich (the producer) is incredibly smart for incorporating all the elements in every single episode. I hope we can continue to live up to the standards,” enthused the actress.
